The
Assembly Rooms in Bath were built in the eighteenth Century and later
restored in the twentieth century after being destroyed by bombs in World
War II. It is now said to be
haunted
by a ghostly 'Man in Black'.
Many
have witnessed the ghostly figure over the years and all describe the man
they saw in the same detail. Some have even sketched him wearing long black
robes and a large black hat. In all of the descriptions he is a thin,
slightly hunched figure.
Not
only has he been seen in the Assembly Rooms but he has also been seen in
Saville Row, the building's adjacent road. It is a mystery as to why he
haunts that area, or in fact who he is, but some say he does resemble Guy
Fawkes.
