Epworth Old Rectory

The Old Rectory in Lincolnshire was built in 1709 and is famous for being the birthplace of John and Charles Wesley, perhaps two of Britain's most famous clergymen.

The haunting of this place began in 1716, when John Wesley was still living there. Strange noises were heard all over the house and doors and windows opened and closed of their own accord. A corn mill was seen turning on its own and from then on, two months of poltergeist activity invaded the house.  Footsteps on the stairs were heard as well as raps and knocks in the hall and kitchen.
